Boney Kapoor reveals wanting to cast Priyanka Chopra opposite Diljit Dosanjh
Speaking to Zoom, Boney Kapoor expressed his admiration for Diljit Dosanjh, with whom he is collaborating on the much-anticipated No Entry 2. Kapoor shared that he had long desired to work with the Punjabi singer-actor. In fact, years ago, Kapoor had almost cast Diljit alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas in a project that, unfortunately, never came to fruition.
Delving deeper into the story, Kapoor explained that the project was conceived six to seven years before Priyanka relocated to the United States to star in the hit television series Quantico. The actress had been thoroughly impressed by the script. However, despite their team waiting for her availability for two years, the film was eventually shelved. Kapoor reminisced, “When I used to speak to her, she said, ‘I have the script next to me, and every night I think of this and imagine myself.’”
Reflecting on the unmade film, Kapoor revealed that Diljit was their choice to play Priyanka’s husband. He shared that they had approached the Punjabi artist for the role, telling him he would be paired opposite the global icon. “So, our relationship is that old!” Kapoor exclaimed, adding that fate has now brought them together for No Entry 2.
